The scenario of recovery media has changed now with the release of inbuilt Recovery Media Builder 3.0. (next RMB 3.0.). So now this Wizard should be launched from express mode or from HOME drop menu.

STEP 1 – Welcome to the Recovery Media Builder Wizard!
Starting the RMB 3.0. you will be transferred to the welcome page with two checkboxes offered.
1) Advanced mode. This option has moved from BMB and now we can configure network connection or add drivers to recovery media.
2) Use ADK/WAIK. Also we still can use WIM image of actual OS for preparing.
It is recommended to use defaults on this step if you don’t need to prepare advanced recovery media.

STEP 2 – Recovery media platform.
This step determines which of two available platforms (environment) will be used as a base of recovery media.
The WinPE recovery environment can be a real alternative to the Linux/DOS recovery environment. Providing nearly the same level of functionality it offers an excellent hardware support and the same interface as the Windows version does. It can be used to start a computer that has no operating system, to partition and to format hard drives, to copy disk images, and to initiate Windows Setup from a network share.
The Linux/DOS recovery environment can be used to boot your computer into Linux or PTS DOS to get access to your hard disk for maintenance or recovery purposes. It also has the PTS DOS safe mode, which may help in a number of non- standard situations such as interfering hardware settings or serious problems on the hardware level. In this case, only basic files and drivers (such as hard disk drivers, a monitor driver, and a keyboard driver) will be loaded.
The Linux based recovery media requires to specify your motherboard firmware (uEFI or BIOS). In order to avoid possible incompatibility it is recommended to use WinPE first because it is compatible with both firmware interfaces.
To create a Linux/DOS environment on CD you don’t have to use the RMB necessarily. Ready-made ISO files are provided in the sub-folder “iso” of the software’s program directory – usually “C:Program filesParagon Software[YourParagonProduct]iso”.
bootCD.iso: This is the BIOS version. It’s suitable for any system booting via BIOS/MBR, no matter if 32 or 64 bit. (This file exists on any system.)
bootCDx64.iso: This is the UEFI version. It is needed for 64 bit systems booting via UEFI. (This file exists only on 64 bit Windows systems.)
Due to the some Microsoft’s changes operating with WIM file in Windows 8.1 it is NOT possible to prepare recovery media ISO in Windows 8.1. without WAIK/ADK tools.
In Windows 10 it should be possible to create a recovery media ISO if you start rmbwizard.exe in compatibility mode. rmbwizard.exe can be usually found in “C:Program FilesParagon Software[YourParagonProgram]rmb2”. Rightclick the file and select ‘Properties => Compatibility => check “Run this program in compatibility mode for” => Windows version 7 or 8 => click “OK”‘.
For generation 16 programs please set the compatibility mode for “C:Program FilesParagon Software[Your Paragon Program]programadvlauncher.exe.”
Please notice “No ISO selectable for WinPE on Win 8.1 or Win 10” as well.
STEP 3 – Recovery media format.
It is required to choose the USB flash from the list.
STEP 4 – Recovery media creation.
If you get any errors on this step it is required to read about possible reasons and about soliutions for this error in this article.
STEP 5 – Recovery media created successfully.
STEP 6 – Burn disc image.
As the ISO is successfully created navigate to its location and user right-click on it. You’ll get the option to burn disc image.
Also it is possible to use any of ISO burning software.
STEP 7 – Checking if the disc is bootable.
