NOW THE ACCLAIMED HBO SERIES GAME OF THRONES—THE MASTERPIECE THAT BECAME A CULTURAL PHENOMENON
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King’s Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert’s name. There his family dwells in peace and comfort: his proud wife, Catelyn; his sons Robb, Brandon, and Rickon; his daughters Sansa and Arya; and his bastard son, Jon Snow. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse—unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season.
Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances. Now Robert is riding north to Winterfell, bringing his queen, the lovely but cold Cersei, his son, the cruel, vainglorious Prince Joffrey, and the queen’s brothers Jaime and Tyrion of the powerful and wealthy House Lannister—the first a swordsman without equal, the second a dwarf whose stunted stature belies a brilliant mind. All are heading for Winterfell and a fateful encounter that will change the course of kingdoms.
Meanwhile, across the Narrow Sea, Prince Viserys, heir of the fallen House Targaryen, which once ruled all of Westeros, schemes to reclaim the throne with an army of barbarian Dothraki—whose loyalty he will purchase in the only coin left to him: his beautiful yet innocent sister, Daenerys.
the book is just amazing. however the narrators voice is a bit too old it sounds like a maister is reading it haha not bad just not what I expected

Fantastic book! One of the best listens I have purchased. The narrator, Roy Dotrice, was absolutely amazing being able to make the different voices for a myriad of characters. He is truly talented and makes the book come alive! Now I'm going to 'binge watch' GOT on TV! WELL DONE!

I'm hooked and will be reading the whole series! I can't get enough. The narrator brings the story to life and give the words justice.

This is great. I am able to envision the television show while listening. The reading is bringing great joy.

Watched 7 seasons of the series before beginning the books. Unlike many novels I read that use beautifully descriptive prose, GOT focuses more on forwarding the plot. Given the depth of the story, I enjoy this approach. One issue I had with narration is the interruptions of the bird in several scenes

A fantastic book and a horrible narration. I don't understand the others saying this narrator is amazing. He makes Varys sound like he's got a mouthful of saliva. I've never cringed so much and had to hit the 30 sec skip. The narrator is constantly changing the way he pronounces names too. I'm reading the rest of the books. Worst narrator ever.

This is the beginning of one of the most complex yet thoroughly enjoyable fantasy/soap operas I have ever experienced. Just when one is tempted to begin questioning their commitment to this epic, a character says or does something completely down to earth, or funny or does something heroic and action packed. You can barely tell the players without a scorecard built, I promise, this is so well orchestrated that the listener will know who everyone is and have them sorted long before the end.

Loved it. The audio version takes you right into the Games of Thrones. Will defiantly be listening to the next one.

Wasn’t my thing I guess. I wanted to read before watching, sorry I wasted a credit.
